Guests can choose from high standard lodge accommodation (new in 2009) sleeping up to four persons or caravans sleeping up to six, all furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable family holiday. This wonderful area, close to North Yorkshire National Park, the city of York and the beautiful market towns of Thirsk and Ripon offers a wide variety of attractions and activities all within easy reach. The lovely market town of Thirsk has a lot to offer visitors, with busy market days on Mondays and Saturdays, a good selection of restaurants, pubs, interesting shops, an art gallery, leisure centre and of course race days at the popular Thirsk racecourse. The useful rail link has a direct line into York and Darlington, ideal for city days out, where it’s much more relaxing not to take the car. Within half an hours drive of the park, Lightwater Valley Theme Park offers and exciting day out for all the family with it’s thrilling line up of amazing rides, including Europe’s longest rollercoaster, the stomach churning ‘Eagles Claw’. For a quieter day out Monk Park Farm is a great place to amuse smaller children, with it’s adventure playground and play area, a farm, pedal car arena, nature trail, lake, tea room and gift shop, and it’s only a few minutes away from York House Country Park. |
