The seaside resort of Rhyl is within easy reach and has a beautiful sandy beach as well as all the attractions of a seaside resort. The Palace Fun Centre, is a family attraction offering a number of facilities including Geronimo’s Adventure Playground with a vertical drop slide, 10 Pin Bowling, Terror Towers (nerve tingling walkthrough), an amusement arcade and cash bingo. Within half an hours drive the Lleachwedd Slate Caverns are a great day out for all ages. This working slate mine has been open since 1836 and offers two unique underground tours that take you deep into the mountain where the temperature is a pleasant 54F. Visitors can learn all about the life of a slate miner. Enjoy a drink or meal in the Miner’s Arms, overlooking the mountainous landscape and wander round the shops in the Victorian village – an amazing insight into the lives of ordinary working people in Victorian times.
