Close by is the wonderfully attractive town of Appleby, famous for the ancient and wonderful horse fair that occurs each year.
Kendal, and the lakes, lies under 20 miles away and Appleby itself less than ten, making days out a major possibility and a simple planning exercise from the park, and the number of stunning villages and towns dotted around the lakes and the dales is simply amazing.
With local towns and villages offering superb restaurants and pubs -many with top quality food on offer – and plenty of local attractions in the form of museums and rides there is plenty of scope for a fresh and original family break here – you will never want to leave!
