There are traditional seaside resorts such as Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey, with amusements for all the family and unspoilt beaches and secluded sandy bays for those who take the time to seek them out. Take a trip across the moors – much seen on the TV series ‘Heartbeat’ from Whitby to Pickering on the scenic steam railway.
The North Yorkshire Moors has some of the most fantastic walking and spectacular scenery in the North of England. Stately homes such as Sewerby Hall along with award-winning gardens, the Amy Johnson room, museum and art gallery, there is a children’s zoo, tea rooms and a pitch and putt golf course. To round off the day take a ride on the landtrain – a cliff top journey from Sewerby to Bridlington taking in stunning views of the Yorkshire coast.
