Lochcarron, scattered round the shores of Loch Carron is a photographers dream as the surrounding hills reflect on the crystal waters and only the road and the foreshore separate the loch from the village. Drive from there over Glen Torridon through the mountains to Applecross.

Ullapool museum is housed in a beautifully restored Thomas Telford Parliamentary Church, built originally in 1829.
