History comes alive during visits to Cairnpapple, a prehistoric burial ground situated on the summit of Cairnpapple Hill outside Torphichen with stunning views over central Scotland, and as far as Goat Fell, on Arran. The henge monument is a good example of this rare class of Neolithic ceremonial monument and the concrete dome built to help display the Bronze-Age burials. Visit the magnificent ruins of Linlithgow Palace, birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots, in a beautiful parkland and lochside setting.
