The sun shines in Denbighshire, more than the national average and is easily accessible, being only two hours from the West Midlands and half of that from Merseyside. Everyone loves the seaside and there’s nothing quite like a traditional British seaside holiday. Llangollen Wharf is one of North Wales’ major attractions. The market town of Llangollen being now part of a World Heritage Site. From the Wharf you can take either a horse drawn boat trip along the feeder for the main canal, or a motorised aqueduct which takes you across the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct built by Thomas Telford. Both these trips take in the magical sights and sounds of the beautiful Llangollen Canal.
Walkers and cyclists will find plenty of routes for all levels and abilities in the diverse landscape of Denbighshire. The Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Beauty runs north to south along the eastern boundary of the county. The wide and fertile Vale of Clwyd forms the heart while the open moors of Hiraethog rise to the west. The scenic Dee Valley, edged by the wild Berwyn Mountains, forms the southern boundary and, to the north, the hills drop down to the dune-fringed coast.
